By Road:
Exit from the A12 at Chelmsford and follow the A1245 (Howe Green). After approx 3 miles, turn right at the Bell PH into South Hanningfield Road from the A1245. After 2 miles, turn right into Giffords Lane which is found just. Past the Old Windmill PH on your left. Follow down Giffords Lane and The Fishing Lodge is at the bottom. Postcode CM3 8HX

The site is a SSSi (Site of Special Scientific Interest) for its over wintering wildfowl and enjoys woodland walk links through to the Essex Wildlife Trust's Hanningfield visitor centre. Open 7 days / week Feb-Nov.
